Six days after our "BIG WIND" on May 22nd, trimming work began on my neighbor to the west. There's was the tree from which a large branch knocked down a corner of my back fence as well as knocking off the top of their chimney! It has been an amazing experience for me to watch this particular tree service company out of Danbury, Iowa, make use of all their powerful equipment. They are the same company that tackled the two huge trees in front of my brother's cottage on the east side of my home the very morning after the storm! Really a great bunch of workers! Lansink Tree Service!

80 mph winds were recorded last night causing major tree damage and some structure damage to homes along Lakewood Drive where I live and other streets south of town. Pictured above are actually two huge tress that were in front of my brother's next door cottage. Believe it or not neither his house which you can't see on the left and the yellow cottage seen here received minimal damage - possibly due to the fact there was enough yard area between the two homes to allow for a place for the trees to land. Also, an electrical cable that was around one of the trees is what kept it from crushing my brother's home. My back fence was the major damage I suffered at my home along with one broken window. The white object seen on the ground is part of my neighbor's chimney which the huge branch seen here knocked off and caused the damage to my fence.

Hope this picture "takes". It seems that my blog site has changed if format so I'm not sure the picture I just uploaded will appear! The library's newest window display should appear - that being a wonderful collection of "bunnies" by one of our board members. Come on in and take a look at them.
